Thank you for visiting the CARAA website. CARAA is a non-profit organization located in Arab, Alabama that is focused on supporting the City of Arab Animal Shelter. Years ago the shelter could have easily been considered a disaster area and CARAA was formed to ensure that the situations of the past never happen again. While CARAA did take care of day to day operations at one point we are glad to say that the City of Arab has stepped up to bat and now has two full-time employees working to maintain the shelter as well as enforce the city code in relation to animals.
As citzens and residents of Arab, CARAA continues help as needed with any situation at the shelter. CARAA also encourges everyone to avoid the situation of an increased pet population and have their pet spayed or neutered. In the coming weeks CARAA will be announcing new educational programs to help get the word out to help control the pet population.
